The paperless factory – part 3: from paper to digital in just a few days
A customer on the rollout
From paper to digital in just a few days. Is that really possible? Yes! And yes, we know: of course we’re going to say our own solution works. That’s why we’d rather let a customer do the talking. Their employees told us how they experienced the rollout:
“When they told us we were going to start working with new software, we were nervous. We weren’t looking forward to it at all. But during the explanation – which took about thirty minutes – we already saw that this was different from our previous experiences. Clear buttons and just a few clicks. That was basically all we had to do. Now we even come up with our own ideas and enjoy working with it.”
Software implementations have a bad name
We understand that many people have had less-than-great experiences with software implementations. One customer once summed up a typical implementation as: twice the cost, twice the time and half the functionality.
But the world of software has changed. Think about installing an app on your phone: because it is intuitive and easy to use, you quickly understand how it works. The same applies to the apps from Smart Production Solutions.
Configuring instead of implementing
The integration with your ERP system is already taken care of. What remains is configuring the apps – which literally means deciding what you want your employees to be able to do. For example:
- carry out inspections;
- register machine hours or not;
- report additional materials;
- register production quantities.
We configure the apps together with you, to match the way your people work. The information is already in your ERP system. We retrieve it and present it to the people on the shop floor in a simple, clear way. With large, easy-to-understand buttons – such as start and stop – digital administration becomes very straightforward.
Step by step
You don’t have to change everything at once. Start with one process or one department, then build it up step by step.
But remember: digitalisation is an ongoing process. Or as the employees at our customer put it: “If we have new ideas or wishes, we simply let them know.” And that’s exactly where you want to be.
