What do cloud ERP and Airbnb, Netflix and Uber have in common?
Hotel chains complain that private landlords have to follow fewer rules and therefore compete unfairly. International hotel chains feel private rentals gaining scale thanks to the sophisticated Airbnb app, which lets you find an affordable place to stay in any world city within seconds. A great example of what modern technology can do and how it overturns old concepts.
I foresee a similar development for machine builders. The world of machine building is on the eve of change, driven by modern technology. But first, a step back to Uber and Airbnb. What is so special about what they do? They listen to their customers. They serve them at their every whim by delivering a service quickly and in a user-friendly way through an app – a taxi in one case, a place to stay in the other. All with a ‘simple’ app.
The same technology will change the world of the machine builder. Smart Production Solutions has the same goal as Uber and Airbnb: we want to work with you as a machine builder to optimise your business processes. Better still, we want to surprise you. Knowing our commitment and passion, I am sure we will succeed. Our first apps have been developed and are now being launched. We will keep listening closely to you and the market to help you with modern technology – technology that gives you a head start on competitors still working with old legacy systems.
As a young organisation with apps for machine builders, I expect that a message like the hotel chains’ will soon come from the big ERP vendors too: a message complaining about small, smart software companies that, agile and equipped with modern technology, help machine builders in the new world of IoT, supply chain integration, collaboration and big data. Complaints that machine builders are much better served by new players like Smart Production Solutions, who partner with them and help proactively.
Are you also stepping into the world of Smart Industry and using apps to further optimise your business processes?
